Public Comments

  1. C is the closest I can see being right there is something wrong with all of them.
  2. What did you do?
  3. A is wrong, law enforcement agencies are governed by the state or local govt's legislative and executive branches collectively. D is wrong b/c there are county governed PDs. B is wrong b/c all police officers need to know the basics of fourth, fifth, and sixth ammendment protections or any evidence gathered will likely be inadmissible. That leaves C.
  4. I believe the answer is c. for sake of a school paper. however where I live B=we have no ordinary police officers, maybe they aren't required to understand how to gather evidence because they do illegal searches all the time. For instance I get pulled over for moving my strap which was fastend on my seatblet I just had my arm over it and I saw big boy sherriff hickabilly and put my arm under it....flips a b**ch and pulls me over.I take my seat belt off to get my flippin registration and stuff out of glove box and he says hes pulled me over cuz he doesnt believe I had my belt on.He then asked if he could go thru my purse,Sure officer Hickabilly woudl you like to go thru my panty drawers too and get yourself soemthing silky to wear,Anyway they do this stuff all the time.Sherriff Hickabilly has got a rager for me,but can't ever find me breaking the law.
  5. As far as my law enforcement experience (just started 6 months ago but just went through academy), then B is the answer. Police officers are not evidence gatherers, that is for specialized units normally your CID or detectives. The police officer themselves do not gather evidence. C is kind of shortened, officers are to uphold and enforce the laws. That is in your manuals, you are to enforce and uphold the laws of your area.
  6. A,B, D - all wrong. Technically, C isn't quite right, but it's the closest. There is a difference in the definitions of "enforce" and "uphold", and enforcing the law is what law enforcement officers do, as the name implies. Enforce: 1. To compel observance of or obedience to. 2. To impose (a kind of behavior, for example). 3. To give force to; reinforce. Uphold: . 1. To hold aloft; raise: upheld the banner proudly. 2. To prevent from falling or sinking; support. 3. To maintain or affirm against opposition. Law enforcement compels observance of the law, imposes lawful behavior. Going with the 3rd example of "uphold", law enforcement maintains the law and affirms opposition to those who disobey it. So "C", while not quite right, is as close as you can with these choices.
  7. C is the closest, A law enforcement does not work for the court system B. All police have to gather evidence D. the Sheriff department is the county law enforcement But Law enforcemnet officers are required to uphold the law, not mainly.
