Who Says there is no good news? Police officer to be Prosecuted over Death of Dogs in his Care?

Remember the poor mutts that suffocated on the hottest day of the year in the Police Van? That 'person' will now be facing prosecution. How do you feel about this?

Public Comments

  1. Just heard this on the radio.... Great news!
  2. At last the law has made some sense! Good and I hope he never gets put in charge of animals or allowed to carry on working with them or own them ever again.
  3. A good thing too.
  4. Great! Also hope there is justice for the dogs that were kicked around brutally by other police officers in the news recently. Time they weeded out all the thugs using cruelty against police dogs.
  5. not really good news because there is no winner, but then if that's what they'd do to the public, then go ahead.
  6. Good! I was hoping that would happen! Most times cops just get off with a slap on the wrist and reprimanded. Most never do time for anything that they do. That was really really stupid of him to leave that poor dog in that hot steaming car! It's a shame the cop can't get the same punishment. He may just get out of everything still. I wouldn't be surprised.
  7. Good about time the officer was prosecuted. That was an absolutely appalling thing to do by someone who is supposed to be a professional dog handler.
  8. I think it's a great pity on all fronts. I feel terribly sad that the dogs suffered. I feel terribly sad for the police officer, whom I feel sure didn't do it intentionally and I sad that the poor old tax payer has to yet again pay for a court case.
  9. Good - it happened in Glasgow about two years ago. A stray dog was handed into London Road police station. It was left in the cells by an officer who never logged it. About a week or so later they found it starved to death locked in a cell. It made headlines in the local press for a short period then was brushed under the carpet.
  10. Hi there Anyone who allowed their dogs to die in these circumstances should be prosecuted regardless of their job or status. It beggars belief that a professional dog handler could behave in this way and he should face the full force of the animal cruelty law. I hope he is banned from keeping animals for life. Best wishes.
  11. It is the right decision.
  12. That is good news indeed. And it came about quickly. Where oh where though is the policeman who baton whipped and pushed the man in London to the ground which brought about his sudden death ?
